two-day seminar teaching employees how to deal with
their ?whiteness” and the university plans to spend $85
million to increase campus diversity while paying its
chief diversity officer $385,000 per year. Universities
tend to be diversified regarding looks while at the same
time suppressing different opinions.
The University of Vermont has hosted retreats
where white students are taught to believe that differ-
ences in group outcomes are due to the privileges
granted to white males. Some universities require their
students to take ?diversity courses” as a requirement for
graduation and a reporter for the Texas State University
newspaper, the University Star, had an article published
titled ?Your White DNA is an Abomination.”

Emancipatory politics are political activities that
aim to end exploitation and enhance participatory
democracy. Multiculturalists favor emancipatory
policies that procure economic and social rights,
political rights or equality, often for a specifically
disenfranchised group. Multiculturalism lambasts white
privilege, demands social justice, and advocates safe
spaces where people can go to evade criticism or
