Chapter 1: The Stage is Set

Freedom of expression is essential to every human
right. Both declarations proclaim that,

“Everyone has the right to freedom
of opinion and expression; this right
includes freedom to hold opinions without
interference and to seek, receive and
impart information through any media
and regardless of frontiers.”

Despite these provisions, the European Union has
declared war on free speech when opinions are contrary
to cultural relativism. Cultural relativists believe that all
cultures are worthy in their own right and are of equal
value. Diversity of cultures, even those with conflicting
moral beliefs, is not to be considered in terms of right
and wrong or good and bad. Globalism in Western
Europe has led to a loss of national purpose and identity
in most countries. Europe is on its cultural deathbed,
and Canada’s multicultural policies that promote
diversity are pushing it down the same path.

The Canadian legislature changed the country’s
1908 national anthem by replacing the words “in all thy
sons command” to “in all of us command” to make the
song more gender neutral. The offending words refer-
enced men who lost their lives in World War I. Canada
is an example of a country moving toward a system of
values as opposed to national identity because there has
been an erasure of culture, of ethnicity, of European
heritage, imposed on society from the top down.
