Our Rotary Branding with distribution of Club T-Shirts to all members was very well appreciated and
we thanked the Trust for funding the first lot, however It was suggested that those who want to go
for a spare additional T-shirt can get it at a cost of Rs.500/-. This decision was unanimously accepted
and approved by the BOD. However we need to have sufficient quantity to order.
OTHER PROJECTS DISCUSSED
Rtn Santosh Bade presented an upcoming project i.e . A 5 Km Walkathon on 15- Sept- 19 planned in
Thane in memory of Dr. Shrikant Jichkar who incidentally is the Inspiration and Motivation behind the
Dixit Movement in the country which is spreading globally. Advantages of participating and doing it
under Rotary banner is that the expected more than 5000 to 10000 footfalls will give us an opportunity
for branding our club and Rotary in particular, a very Good PR/ PI opportunity. We only need to
sponsor small 250 ml water bottles no route to participants the cost of which is very Minimal to which
other Rotary clubs of Thane have also shown interest. We get good media Coverage & PR Millage.
This project was unanimously accepted by the BOD and approved for participation.
Rtn. Narendra Lindiat suggested our Club Participation in the Cultural National Dance Competition
th
being held at The Amphi Theatre Upavan Thane from 17 August, a 2 day event of various classical
dance forms of India with participants coming from across the country. We have to only sponsor the
Certificates and Trophies. Since this event will be covered by the Media it gives a good chance for our
club to get noticed in the community again a good opportunity of PR/PI.
This project was also unanimously accepted by the BOD and approved for participation.
Rtn. Nitin Kelkar mentioned Two Project firstly Sponsoring Gym equipment at the Thane Naupada
Police Station and Secondly about the needs of a school for Blinds in Kalyan which has a Lodging &
bording facilities for approx. 40 students to which President has requested Rtn. Nitin to submit the
list of requirements and the Budget so that they can be taken up for discussion in our future BOD
Meetings.
Rtn. Kishor Bhalerao mentioned that he will give a template for presentation of the suggested projects
in a proper tabular format which will cover all the aspects of presentation as per Rotary guidelines.
This will help all those who want to propose a new project and bring up for discussion in future BOD
meets.
President suggested a small change in the current Portfolio of directors. Rtn. Nitin Kelkar was given
the additional charge of TRF along with his current portfolio of CSR. To which he gladly agreed and
