However, if a person decides to finish the bite in his or her mouth, that is fine.What is the ruling for a fasting person who had the intention to break the fast during the day for an illegitimate reason, but upon reflection ended up continuing the fast?The fast is based on the intention. Each day of Ramadan is started with the intention of fasting and so if that intention is broken during the day, even if no food is eaten, the fast is broken. The day needs to be made up.What is the ruling for a couple who are undergoing fertility treatment during the month of Ramadan and the wife has to submit a culture and the man has to submit a sperm sample?As long as the wife remained fasting during the procedure, her fast is valid. However, the husband%u2019s fast would be broken because intentional ejaculation invalidates the fast. He would have to make up the day.
