Allah says (what can be translated as): %u201cSay (O Muhammad): %u2018O My slaves who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), be afraid of your Lord (Allah) and keep your duty to Him. Good is (the reward) for those who do good in this world, and Allah%u2019s earth is spacious (so if you cannot worship Allah at one place, then go to another)! Only those who are patient shall receive their reward in full, without reckoning%u201d [al-Zumar 39:10]Does cupping invalidate fasting?Imams Hanifa, Maalik, and Shafa%u2019i all stated that cupping does not invalidate one%u2019s fast. They cite Bukhari%u2019s narration on the authority of ibn %u2018Abbas (ra) that the Prophet (pbuh) had cupping done when he was in a state of ihram and when he was fasting.Imam Ahmad, on the other hand, stated that cupping invalidates one%u2019s fast due to the saying of the Prophet (pbuh): %u201cThe one who has cupping done and the one who does it to another have both broken their fast.%u201d It is more cautious to refrain from cupping whilst fasting.Copyright %u00a9 2023 Islamic Association of Raleigh.
