IS IT TRUE THAT BATTERIES AND ELECTRIC HOUSEHOLD
APPLIANCES OF ANY KIND SHOULD NOT BE PLACED IN THE
YELLOW ECO POINT?
ģ YES, IT'S TRUE. And it is very important that you do not put
them in because they are different materials from plastic and
metal that can be recycled.
Putting it together with this waste will contaminate materials
that could be recovered and, thus, no longer have adequate
conditions for recycling.
͍ SO WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH THE HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES AND OTHER KINDS?
$ Batteries must be placed in the proper eco points (stack) that you find in many supermarkets
and stores that sail electric materials. In some areas there are also eco points for batteries next to
the blue, yellow and green eco points.
$ Regarding appliances, you can deliver the old equipment to a store, when buying a new one,
provided that it has equivalent characteristics, the return being provided free of charge by the
distributor (including in cases where the sale implies a home delivery;
$ You can deposit very small equipment (total size up to 25cm) free of charge in retail stores
with sales areas greater than 400m2, without the obligation to purchase new equipment;
$ You can deposit free of charge at the selective collection facilities (reception centers and EEEW
collection points - electrical and electronic equipment waste).
