Describe the situation or event related to the individual's or team's performance.
Brian is a good representation of a great collaborator because he saw one of the R&D technician lifting and
moving the totes and asked if she needed help. He helped her that day and then also aided in coming up with a
better way of working. By offering to spend time once a week to move the samples he has brought a better,
more efficient way of working for the R&D Analytical group.
Describe in detail the individual's or team's notable behaviors.
Brian volunteered his time on his own, with out being asked. He then continue to aid the group where needed.
Offering solutions and better ways of working outside of him being tasked, or asked. Even when it is out of the
scope of his daily work.
What were the results of the individual’s or team’s behaviors?
For the last 5 years Brian has volunteered to assist R&D Analytical and Drug Stability by to move totes of
samples from the engineering room to the loading dock for shipment from Lippmann to Plaza. His help has
allowed the samples to be moved more efficiently between Lippmann campus and Plaza for testing. Previous
to Brian's help the R&D Analytical technician would either lift the tote (75 lbs) holding the samples into their car
and transfer between locations, or walk one container at a time to the loading dock for the mail van to transfer
the tote (some times taking up to 4 trips between locations to get all samples needed). Brian's help has
allowed him to use the tow motor to take one trip with all totoes to the loading dock and samples will be
delivered to Plaza with 1 trip. Saving time, expenses, and aiding in keeping the technician's safe with the heavy
lifting.
