Custodial Services
Although we do have limited custodial support, the teacher is responsible for maintaining his/her
classroom. Our goal at The Lawson Academy is to develop the student’s respect for his/her
environment while increasing their responsibility. This environment includes the classrooms,
restrooms, hallways, and the entire facility, inside and out. Teachers must assume a certain amount
of responsibility for the upkeep of their own room and the school overall. Do not assume that
someone else will address a problem you see around campus or in your classroom. Notify the
administration in writing of problems.
Classroom cleanliness can be greatly assisted by the teachers establishing a few simple classroom
routines that make the students aware of their responsibilities. Take a few minutes at the end of
each day and have students pick up papers and straighten desks.
Dress Code (Staff)
Professional attire is expected at all times. The definition of “professional,” of course, may change
based on the specific plans for the day. All staff are expected to wear the official Lawson Academy
uniform shirt with black or grey pants or skirts (females). Male staff are to wear black dress shoes
(no tennis shoes) with black or grey socks. Female staff should wear shoes that cover the feet well
and provide comfort while monitoring classroom activities. Slides of any kind are not allowed.
During online teaching, all teachers and staff are expected to maintain the same profeesional
appearanc by wearing The Lawson Academy uniform attire.
Employees shall act as role models by exemplifying the highest standard of professional
appearance for the educational purposes of teaching community values and proper grooming and
hygiene. The dress and grooming of employees shall be clean, neat in a manner appropriate for
their assignments and in accordance with the following standards: All staff must wear the school
uniform shirt black/grey slacks or skirts (female) – Spirit T-shirts on Fridays.

staff are not required to purchase additional shirts through payroll deduction. All employees are
provided with sufficient shirts to be worn each work day.
