             Advice to make entertaining easier

Entertaining at home is the business. But if you want your event to blow your guests’ socks
off, you need to be prepared. Get organised by browsing your favourite recipe books or
websites and compiling your menu carefully. Then grab a pen and paper and jot down your
shopping list, so you don’t forget anything vital.

When you’re back at home with all your lovely ingredients, pack the fridge cleverly. Try to
maximise space and free a couple of shelves because you’ll need them as you go to house
all those delicious dishes you create.

Go through your recipes and decide what to make on the day and what you can prepare in
advance. The last thing you want when you have all those great people over is to be stuck in
the kitchen alone, so prepare as much in advance as you can. Also lay out all your
ingredients in plain sight, so that cooking on the day goes chop-chop.

Entertaining is all about attitude. To be a good host, you need to pour a lot of love into the
cooking process because this shows when people eat your food. Cooking is a generous deed
so be generous with your attitude and this will be reflected in your food!

When it comes to drinks, variety is key. Give your guests some tasty options and always

make sure you have enough glasses and plenty of ice. Lay everything out so that people can
             help themselves.

Make sure that 90% of the preparation is done before your guests arrive. Then have a
shower, pour yourself a glass of something cold and put your feet up – you deserve it.

                                                                                                                 1/2
