53. FAC requested that in the future, the schools receive confirmation of what they have
submitted. FAC also requested that no penalties be given to those candidates who
experienced difficulty when uploading their SBA samples.

               54. FAC, noting that many qualified markers have had trouble in transitioning from face-
to-face marking to electronic marking, asked that CXC ensure that markers are guided through
               the process.

               55. FAC was informed that communication with stakeholders was an area which was
being improved with the introduction of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
system. Messages would be sent to groups or individuals from Divisions in a specified format.

               56. FAC was further informed that Consultant, Professor Andrew Downes was contracted
to analyse the per QIG payment to markers as requested at the previous FAC meeting. The
report and recommendations were completed and were being discussed by various Officers
before implementation. Once the recommendations are implemented it would be very
important to correctly categorise each QIG in order to ensure correct payment.

               57. FAC heard that the training of markers should be an ongoing process and should not
be restricted to the marking period. This was one area which would be improved in the
coming sessions. Videos were created to assist with the continuous training of markers and
provisions were made in the 2017 budget for training in Guyana in particular where the
markers participation was low. The training would seek to recruit more resources in new
subject areas such as Green Engineering and Entrepreneurship.

               58. FAC heard that with these improvements, it was expected that the challenges of
completing marking on time would not reoccur.

ITEM 4 (ii) – REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS IN CASES OF IRREGULARITY IN THE
               EXAMINATIONS

               59. FAC received FAC 2017 (23B) - Reports and Recommendations in Cases of Irregularity
in the May-June 2017 examinations and was asked to take action on the recommendations
               made.

               60. FAC was asked to note that the recommended committee was established and
               consisted of Benita Byer-Bowen, EDPD; Dianne Medford, EAS; Gordon Harewood, Consultant;
Tara Levy, Legal Officer and Rodney Payne, SAR (E) (ag).

               61. The committee convened and discussed the following cases of irregularity and
               submitted the recommendations to FAC.

was drawn to the attention of the other Supervisor who then
proceeded to walk around the room. A statement from the
                                            second Supervisor was requested.
