            Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA™)

            1. The Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA™) is an assessment of the key literacies required by all students exiting the primary
school system. The CPEA™ places a high premium on integrating both formative and summative assessment assumptions in
teaching and learning. A major component of the CPEA™ involves the use of Projects, Writing Portfolios, Journals and Book
Reports to develop pupils’ language literacy skills. As part of their writing tasks, pupils are required to complete various writing
pieces including narrative pieces. To date, the CPEA™ has been implemented in seven territories across the Caribbean.

Figure 1 depicts the territories which prepared students for CPEA™ in 2019 and 2020 of which three territories offered students
for 2020. The respective territories are Anguilla, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Suriname.
