Question: Should I assign teachers to candidates at registration time or at the time of the SBA
data capture?
Answer: You should assign the teachers to the candidates at the time of registration. If you
do, you will be able to generate the report ‘Register of Candidates by Subject Teacher’. This
report allows the subject teacher to verify the accuracy of the candidates’ data by subject.
Question: At time of registration, do I assign teachers to candidates even though the subject
does not carry an SBA component?
Answer: Yes. The teacher to candidate assignment will be required to input data for the
ranking and estimated grade.
Question: Why should I indicate the Class or Form for candidates when registering them?
Answer: The advantage of registering candidates by Class or Form is that it allows the User to
generate the report ‘Register of Candidates by Class Teacher’. The Classroom teacher is given
the opportunity to verify the accuracy of the registration keyed on behalf of his/her classroom
students.
Question: The candidate’s name was changed in the ORS but when the timetable was received
from CXC, it had the incorrect (original) name. What could have happened?
Answer: It could be that the amendment file was never forwarded to the Ministry; if it was,
the Ministry probably did not forward it to CXC. Generate the 'Forward Status Report' in the
ORS to see which files were/weren’t forwarded. All outstanding files should be forwarded.
OR
It could be that the amendment file with the name change was received by CXC after the file
with the candidate’s timetable data was processed. If that was the case, the name change
would be reflected on the preliminary results slip, when received.
