Question: How do I make an amendment after the official registration cut-off date has passed?
Answer: Go to the Registration option on the Main Menu Screen. Select the Edit Candidate
option. Search for the candidate. When found, select View and make the required changes.
Please remember to Save file and forward it to the Ministry via the Import/Export option on the
Main Menu Screen.
Question: What is the difference between a candidate registering as a Repeat and a Re-sit?
Answer: Repeat indicates that a candidate has done the particular subject before at the same
level - even if it was 20 years ago. Re-sit indicates that the candidate wants to take the subject
again and reuse the SBA marks from a previous registration period, usually within a two-year
period for CCSLC and CAPE or a one-year period for CSEC.
Question: Why is the ORS preventing me from registering a candidate as a Re-sit?
Answer: The system would not allow candidates who are not eligible to register as Re-sit to
do so. Users can verify if a candidate is eligible to register as a Re-sit by looking at the back of
the candidate's pre-slip or on the broadsheet to see if any of the subjects has the # sign next to
it. If there is one, the candidate will not be eligible to be registered as a Re-sit for that subject.
Question: I am about to register a candidate whose first name is incorrect from a previous
registration period. Should I change the incorrect name to the correct one?
Answer: No. Please register the candidate with the incorrect personal information from the
previous period. After the official registration cut-off date, you should make an amendment
and forward it to the Ministry for onward transmission to CXC.
