Question: I have keyed all the SBA marks into the system for all the subjects but when I
attempt to forward the data file to the Ministry an error message appears stating that the SBA
for all subjects must be completed before the file can be forwarded. What could have
prevented the data file from being forwarded?
Answer: If you did not complete the Order of Merit (estimated rank and grade of each
candidate) for all subjects including non-SBA subjects, you will not be able to forward the data
file. Also, if candidates from the centre are taking CSEC Theatre Arts or CAPE Performing Arts,
the marks for the practical examination must be keyed.
To ensure that this process is complete, generate the reports out of the ORS called Candidates
Without Rank or Grade and Candidates Without SBA Score. If any of the report shows
candidates, it means that the rank and grade or SBA scores submitted for those candidates.

Question: Can more than one candidate have the same rank?
Answer: Yes. If this happens, the candidate with the next ranking should be two ranks down.
For example, if two candidates are ranked as 3rd, the next candidate should be ranked 5th.

Question: A candidate did not submit the SBA assignment. Should the candidate be assigned
0?
Answer: No. The candidate should not be assigned 0 because 0 is a score which indicates the
candidate submitted work and earned 0 marks. The checkbox ‘No SBA’ should be selected to
indicate that the candidate did not submit SBA.
