             Life-Strong LEARNING




              The Jefferson County area is
            served by two great public school
            systems. Madison Consolidated
            Schools consists of the Madison
            Consolidated Preschool, Junior High
            School, High School as well as the

            ton, and Rykers’ Ridge Elementary
            Schools. Southwestern Schools are
            located in Hanover and serve the
            western portion of Jefferson Coun-
            ty. The Southwestern Elementary,
            Middle School, and High School are
            all within walking distance of each
            other.
              Other community educational
            options include two more Chamber
            of Commerce members: a private

            Peace Catholic Schools, the private
            school system, consists of Pope John
            Elementary and Shawe Memorial
            Jr-Sr High School. Our area charter
            school, Canaan Community
            Academy, serves grades K–6.
            There is even a free preschool for   Pre-K to Graduation,
            income eligible households offered
            through Ohio Valley Opportunities’   Madison offers a unique,
            Head Start Program.
              Jefferson County also boasts    student-focused experience
            two post-secondary institutions,
            Hanover College and Ivy Tech
            Community College. If you are
            seeking an online degree or to
            further your collegiate education,
            Indiana Tech offers both online
            as well as on-campus courses in
            cities within 45 miles of Madison;
            Kettering University also offers
            online Graduate Degree Programs as
            well as Masters Programs.
