          was written in manuscript (Seen 1924). By 1938 a handstamp (Type
          14) was being used to impress the labels, and it was occasionally im­
          pressed directly on to the cover. Since about 1958 Type 15 has been
          used and is invariably impressed directly on to registered covers.
              The Postage Due cachet is very rarely seen.





                        THE PAKISTAN OVERPRINTS

















               In common with Muscat and the other postal agencies in the
          Persian Gulf, the Guadur Post Office, hitherto administered from
          Karachi by the Government of India, came under the control of
          Pakistan in August 1947. Towards the end of October the Indian King
          George VI stamps without overprint were replaced, as in Muscat, by
          those with the Nasik PAKISTAN overprint. It is known that all values
          to RslO were available, but the use of the higher values was almost
          entirely confined to payment for telegrams. Covers exist with all
          values to R1, and the Rs5 is known used on a parcel; the covers are
          very rare and the Rs5 posta/ly used is probably unique. The
          1948 Pakistan Independence set was also used in Guadur, and it is
