                   2. Individual essential oil reviews

The most important characteristics of 10 essential oils are written in this chapter.
Remember to first test if you are allergic to an essential oil by putting a fraction of a
drop of the essential oil dilution on the inside of your forearm, and waiting to see if skin
is irritated or red. Be careful not to ever let it come into contact with eyes.

Not to be ingested, details are described in chapter 5.
Remember to use appropriate dilution instead of directly using the essential oil, they
depend on the application and are described in chapter 1.3.
People with epilepsy are not allowed to use essential oils.
To be on the safe side, do not let pregnant women and small children use any
essential oils. Keep out of reach of children!
Undiluted essential oil must not come into contact with your mucous membranes
(lips, mouth, tongue, nose insides, ...). If you must use essential oils on these areas,
use a mild dilution with a carrier oil!
People with high blood pressure should not use essential oils before consulting with
their assigned medical specialist. Be extra careful with dosage in this case.
Elderly people should be careful when using essential oils, if used choose a much
smaller dosage, dilute more also and consult doctor first.

                   2.1. Tea tree essential oil
                   (Aetheroleum malaleuca al.)

It is distilled from freshly picked tea tree leaves and branches.

Tea tree essential oil’s application is primarily in battling various microbes in the
environment, as it is so very strong, it only is applied when there is a problem and you
want it to heal skin conditions, such as skin or nail fungus, acne and herpes, even some
parasites, or help in disinfecting minor cuts and minor wounds, treat insect bytes and
                   female genital infections.

It can be used to cleanse your home of infecting agents and allergy triggers, with a half
liter spray bottle, you add 20 drops of tea tree oil and 30 drops of lemon oil in the water
and spread the dilution. Since it is strong, you need to be careful where you spray, as
contact with eyes of any essential oil is strictly forbidden, and also avoid possibility of
contact with children when spraying and near their food. When diffused it destroys
                   allergy causing pathogens.

Even though tea tree is the best of the oils in this book for treating nail fungus, it is a very
strong and dangerous substance so you need to be careful.
Tea tree is proven to be poisonous when ingested. This poisonous effect is minimized
when not ingested, an Australian research has shown. So DO NOT EAT OR DRINK
