Phone Screen Questions
General Questions
1. Why are you interested in the DOA opportunity with Vallejo Flood & Wastewater?
Why are you actively or passively looking for a new position?
I'm looking for the next step in my career. Starting my family. This is a step up in
salary and title. I knew going into it it was going to be somewhat political. I work
directly with the Board of Trustees with the School District. It has been very

butler and you have to tread very lightly. I am an unrepresented employee - I've seen
people resign or get let go when something negative happens with those
relationships. I feel that I shouldn't be looking over my shoulder to see what's going

you will see what I'm talking about. Based on where I'm at I'm starting to think that I
need to find something more stable and really grow at that organization.

smoothly on a day to day basis. If there are any ad hoc things that come in from the
parents. I coordinate travel and reimbursements. I manage all contract management
when it comes to outsourcing work. I throw an $15,000 event every year and work
with insurances and vendors. We are a school district of 25 schools - I support those
25 principals - assisting them with their websites, providing them with additional
training on how to make the appropriate edits that they're looking for. Assistant
Superintendents.
3. Please describe your supervisory experience and the most challenging human
resources issue you have addressed.
Supervisory experience - at prior organization was a team lead - had an intern and
account associate. They were "kind of" reporting to me. I have had a good level of
success managing my teams. Success was judged by the amount of articles you were
