2018 – Present | Long Beach Public Library | Senior Librarian in Automated Services | Long Beach, CA
• Oversee the professional and technical operations of LBPL’s acquisitions, cataloging, digital services, and
integrated library systems, including training, supervising, and mentoring nine direct reports.
• Operate as lead cataloging specialist; In first year, developed workflows for Khmer Cataloging project and
participated in creating 1300+ unique bibliographic records in vernacular Khmer. Presenting on this topic at
the 2020 Public Library Association Conference in Nashville, TN.
• Assist ASB Manager in handling integrated library systems, including contract negotiation and renewals, system
configuration and user permissions, resolution of bugs, software upgrades and integrations, vendor
communication, and product evaluation.
• Assist ASB Manager in setting long- and short-term department priorities, scoping projects, and exploring
industry trends; In first year, developed ASB Priorities Rubric to track project requests and increase visibility
into ASB priorities.
• Collaborate on cross-department committees, including: Policy Committee – participated in drafting new
library rules; Website Committee Chair – oversaw LBPL website redesign, continue leading ongoing
maintenance and marketing efforts; Quarterly Clerks Meeting Chair – organized staff training, enacted clerk
feature requests; Collection Development Committee; City of Long Beach Digital Inclusion Committee.

• Facilitated the development and implementation of custom software systems designed to elevate warehouse
and fulfillment operations.
• Created systemic process flows to accommodate operational requirements; Conducted train-the-trainer and
business process change management for all departments transitioning to new system; Reviewed and managed
execution of all testing scripts for user acceptance testing, integration, and end-to-end testing cycles; Designed
and developed user interface for reports built on a SQL backend; Provided Tier-II support for all launch and
post-launch process and technical issue resolution.
• Collaborated with diverse team of system architects, developers, business leaders, analysts, users, and
other stakeholders to move projects forward and achieve goals with predictable results.
2014 – 2016 | Oviatt Library, Cal State Northridge | Project Archivist | Northridge, CA
• Planned and performed the accessioning, processing, and preservation of analog and digital archival collections,
including the preparation of descriptive finding aids and metadata records for the University Library and Online
Archive of California.
• Oversaw the transcription of the Old China Hands Oral History Project, comprised of nearly 200 recordings
documenting the varied experiences of refugees living in China during the early 20th century.
• Worked as part of the Reader Services Team in Special Collections and Archives addressing advanced research
requests from students, faculty, community members, and outside researchers.
• Supervised team of student assistants and interns; conducted all aspects of hiring, training, and performance
review while scaling payroll budget to goal.
