NURSE RECRUITMENT AT MICHIGAN MEDICINE: LOCAL AND NATIONAL REACH

Nurse Recruitment at Michigan Medicine: Local and National Reach
Recruiters at Michigan Medicine continually seek the "best fit" for our nursing teams by sourcing
candidates both locally and nationally. While most registered nurses hired in FY25 were from the local
area, Michigan Medicine also attracts experienced nurses from across the country who are eager to
join our organization, including many with backgrounds in critical care.

In FY25, 97 nurses were hired from outside the state of Michigan. Many of these new team members
brought valuable experience from leading hospitals such as Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Johns
Hopkins University, Duke University Hospital, Rush University Medical Center, and Nationwide
Children’s Hospital.

Additionally, 188 RN hires were internal candidates from Michigan Medicine. The top 10 previous
employers of newly hired nurses reflect a strong local and regional connection, with the highest
numbers coming from:

1. Trinity Health Ann Arbor
58 nurses
2. Henry Ford Health 31 nurses

3. Promedica 23 nurses
4. Childrens Hosp. of MI 17 nurses

5. Corewell Dearborn 16 nurses
6. Henry Ford Jackson 15 nurses
7. Aya Healthcare 10 nurses

8. Trinity Health Livonia 10 nurses
9. Corewell Royal Oak 10 nurses

10. Corewell Health 9 nurses

This diverse recruitment approach ensures that Michigan Medicine continues to build a nursing
workforce with a rich blend of local talent and national expertise.
