A trip up a mountain

On the day of the big trip I was woken up by my alarm at 6:30 AM. I

hastily grabbed my bags I packed last night and rushed out the door, and

got on the bus to mount Monkey together with my friends. We reached the

base of the mountain, named after its feral inhabitants a few hours later.

The air was crisp and I was ready for a day of adventure after longing it for

months. We started our journey full of energy, trecking poles in hand. The

mountain pass was surrounded by pine trees filling the air with a fragrant

smell. At about two thirds of the way to the summit, we started getting

fatigued and the air was feeling thinner. We decided to take a break and

stretch our legs. Thats when we all heard the unmistakable screech of a

monkey. At that moment I remembered packing some fresh bananas last

night for this exact situation. I frantically grabbed them from my backpack

and chucked them on the ground. We could all feel the unbearable tension

in the air as we silently waited for something to happen. Suddenly, a

majestic monkey dashed across the jungle floor, grabbing the bananas and

dissapearing back into the thick pine trees.

After this exhilinating event, we hastily made it to the mountains peak, and

basked in the thrilling views for for a few hours before making our way

back down to the bus at dusk.
