SMEs Run the Country
To jump off the middle income trap and to become a high-income country, the government builds Thailand’s path to develop
named ‘Thailand 4.0’. It is a promising model for Thailand to transform towards a value-based economy previously from
commodities to innovation known as innovative drive economy. This transformative shift begins with 10 industrial targets which
are new engines of growth divided into ‘First S-Curve’ and ‘New S-Curve’. New innovative products and advanced technology
have been developed together with the strength of SMEs. To reach the destination, it needs collaboration among the
government, private sector and civil society working together along the way.
