Detailed Component Descriptions
Chapter 1: Introduction
NOTE:
While the Master Alarm is in test mode, the buzzer and the main relay are
disabled; however, the auxiliary relay still triggers when an alarm condition
occurs.
Configuring Options Available for the Master Alarm
There are three ways you can configure the Master Alarm: front panel keys,
RS-232 serial port, or Web pages.
By using the front panel, you can configure the following options (see table 1-
1 on page 1-26).
Table 1-1. Configuring Options Available for the Master Alarm by Using
the Front Panel
Option Description
User language Set the language for English, Spanish, or French.
Audible return time Set the time between audible alarms.
N2 address Set the address for the building automation system’s notification
option.

A Combination Alarm that has a 30-Point Master Alarm with three Area Alarm Modules cannot
interface with a building automation system. The Area Alarm Modules use the same connector that
would otherwise interface with the building automation system. If you need to interface with a
building automation system, order a 30-Point Master Alarm and a Three Module Area Alarm or a 30-
Point Master with Six Area Alarm Module Combination Alarm (see table 1-20 on page 1-48).
