Chapter 1: Introduction

By using the Web pages, you can configure or browse the following options
(refer to table 1-7 on page 1-33 and table 1-8 on page 1-33).

Table 1-7. Configuring Options Available for the Area Alarm by Using the
Web Pages

Option Description

User administrators Sets up to three users.
Set clock Sets the real time clock.
Device name Sets a unique name to the Area Alarm Network
Communications Board.
Location Sets the location of the room that the module is
monitoring.
Direction Sets the direction of the wing that the module is
monitoring.
Alarm return time Sets the time between audible alarms.
Network setup Sets the Ethernet network settings.

Software update Programs the Area Alarm’s FLASH software.

Option Description

Active Area Alarms Lists all of the active Area Alarm Modules.
Detailed information Lists type of gas, gas reading, units of measure, and
about this Area Alarm location of Area Alarm Modules.
Master Alarms on this List of Master Alarms communicating with this
network Area Alarm.
Event log Log of events and alarms for this Area Alarm.
Model identification Software version, device location, and device name
used by the Information Systems personnel.
Network statistics Communication statistics used by Information
Systems personnel.

If the Network Communications Board is installed, all of the Area Alarm
details can be browsed by using either the Master Alarm or the Area Alarm’s
Web pages.
