Error Codes and Troubleshooting Tips
Chapter 2: Troubleshooting Procedures
Master Alarm
The Master Alarm displays messages when alarms or errors occur. It always
displays alarms for source equipment. If the Network Communications Board
is installed in the Area Alarm, the Master Alarm displays Area Alarm
conditions as well.
2
When an alarm occurs the Master Alarm displays the device name when
possible. If the Master Alarm does not know the name of the device, it displays
the device’s serial number. Each device has a unique serial number, but each
type of device falls into a serial number range. Knowing the ranges is helpful
for troubleshooting alarm messages (see table 2-2 on page 2-9).
Table 2-2. Device Serial Number Ranges
Serial Number Ranges Device
10000 through 19999 Transducer
20000 through 29999 Area Alarm Module
30000 through 39999 Network Communications Board
40000 through 49999 Master Alarm
50000 through 59999 Combination Alarm
The factory-programmed alarm messages for the Master Alarm are used to
help identify and solve the problems that may occur with the facility’s gas
system or the MedPlus TotalAlert™ Alarm Network. There are certain
messages available depending on the type of gas (see table 2-3 on page 2-10).
