Parkside Football Club 1897/2017
With a blistering display of second-half power football, Parkside demolished Albion at the Mery
Hughes in the fourth round.
Having led by four points at quarter-time and by 11 at the main break, the Magpies took the game
by the scruff of the neck in the second half.
Parkside, Port Colts and Hoppers Crossing were the unbeaten sides in Division One seniors after
round four.
Playing fast, running football and winning in the centre they continually attacked the Cats' backline,
with Michael Cammerino, Harold Kelly and Joe Patterson running the ball into attack to create havoc
and give the Magpie forwards easy goals.
If Parkside had kicked more accurately, Albion would have suffered an even bigger hiding. Magpies
full-forward Stephen Nielson was the biggest culprit, booting six goals 10 behinds for the game.
From a very impressive Parkside team, those who stood out were Michael Cammerino (best on
ground), Michael O'Keefe, Souli Ktenidis, Paul Burgess and Joe Patterson.
Parkside 23.22-160 d. Albion 7.7-49
