Parkside Football Club 1897/2017
Parkside’s Michael Cammerino and Shane Lukas
***
The Parks continued their impressive form at the start of the 1998 season after a 97 points win over
Altona.
“Following an even first half, Parkside took control after the long break, kicking 10 goals to Altona's
one major to come 97-point victors in Saturday's third round of FDFL division one competition.
In the first two quarters Altona was most competitive, doing well on the ball with Andrew Venner,
Bobbie Evans and Jason Fastuca winning in the centre, but with their forwards unable to penetrate
the tough Magpies defence.
With a lot of new players, Parkside are still getting their act together and, when they do, once more
will be one of the teams to beat in '98.
Best players for the Magpies Srecko Salopek, Ali Taleb, Paul Burgess, Phillip O'Keefe. Joe Patterson
and Harold Kelly. For Altona, Andrew Venner, Bobbie Evans, Jason Fastuca, Luke Moses and Troy
Keeshaw had good games.”
