very positive effect on the growing eLearning culture. Initially the group started out
with three members and has grown to 15-20 participants over the past year. As
Rosenberg (2006) discusses, training is often used as a change management tool. It
can be an effective constituent but it is not a cure-all. If people do not have the skills
to be successful at this new initiative, they might reject it. In my opinion, training is
a step in the right direction and is essential in order to move forward (Figure 5.4).
Those staff members who attend the ICT training sessions are now working towards
creating their own eLearning videos, relevant to their class and subject of expertise.
Due to the success of the ‘ICT Breakfast Club’, senior management have allocated
more time for staff training in this area. I also sat down with our school website
hosting company to discuss the website design and how it will accommodate future
eLearning videos and resources.
