Page 518 - Chinese SIlver By Adrien Von Ferscht
P. 518
An example of early Luen Hing, circa 1880; a gentleman’s snuff box, encrusted in traditional Chinese scenes - a
good demonstration of how the Luen Hing silver developed into a far more individualist and simplistic style.
It may be small, but this oval circa 1900 picture frame is another piece
of Luen Hing genius - the tripod stand is made of two interlinked
elements, making a lovers’ knot. The frame would have been made for
a marriage picture.
