            circa 1780-1840

Tu Hopp was one of the earliest recorded silver marks of the Chinese Export Silver manufacturing period. It was
a retail silversmith, but as with all the Chinese silversmiths using pseudo-hallmarks, it is still unclear whether it
was also a manufacturing silversmith. Items of silver carrying the mark are extremely rare and are always in the
neo-classical “Georgian” style. In the absence of any artisan mark, determining this is nigh impossible.
