The compressed ovoid body set on a splayed foot, the slender neck
finishing in an everted mouth decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt
with three large shaped panels containing a bird on a blossoming branch,
a group of people engaged in New Year’s activities, and a landscape with
a fishing boat, all against a dense ground of chrysanthemums, the neck
painted with trailing wisteria below a floral-lozenge band, the foot with
scrolling vines and a geometric band below stands of irises, signed in gilt
