you, Lord! Make friends with God's children; help those

on; spend much time in secret with Jesus
Saviour from sin, I wait to prove alone.
That Jesus is Thy healing name;
To lose, when perfected in love, By looking to Jesus, like Him you shall be; and
friends in your conduct
Whate'er I have, or can, or am His likeness shall see. 2/4
I stay me on Thy faithful word:
The servant shall be as his Lord. 1/4 Verse 3 Take time to be holy, let Him be thy
Guide, and run not before Him, whatever
Verse 2 betide.
Answer that gracious end in me
For which Thy precious life was given; In joy or in sorrow, still follow the Lord, and,
Redeem from all iniquity; looking to Jesus, still trust in His word. 3/4
Restore, and make me meet for heaven: Unless Verse 4
Thou purge my every stain, Take time to be holy,
Thy suffering and my faith are vain. 2/4 be calm in your soul, each thought and each
motive beneath His control.

Didst Thou not die that I might live Thus led by His Spirit to fountains of love, you

For thine own truth and mercy's sake;

Shield us through our earthly strife:
Me for thine own this moment take, Thou the life, the truth, the Way,
And change, and throughly purify; Guide us to the realms of day. 2/5
