Verse 2 Jesus, thy wandering sheep behold!
How cheering is their voice, See, Lord, with tenderest pity see
How sweet the tidings are: The sheep that cannot find the fold,
'Zion, behold your Saviour King! Till sought and gathered in by thee. 1/4
He reigns and triumphs here.' 2/6

Verse 3 Thou, only thou, the kind and good
How blessed are our ears And sheep redeeming Shepherd art:
That hear this joyful sound, Collect thy flock, and give them food,
Which kings and prophets waited for, And pastors after thine own heart. 2/4

Verse 4 Give the pure word of general grace,
How blessed are our eyes And great shall be the preachers' crowd;
That see this heavenly light, Preachers, who all the sinful race
Prophets and kings desired long, Point to the all atoning blood. 3/4

Verse 5 Thy only glory let them seek;
The watchmen join their voice, O let their hearts with love o'er flow!
And tuneful notes employ; Let them believe, and therefore speak,
Jerusalem breaks forth in songs And spread thy mercy's praise below. 4/4
