Using an Orientation Checklist
• There is tremendous value in making sure that every
new candidate has an equal opportunity to learn
about their workplace.
• At the same time, it is essential that they get the
benefits of that warm welcome on the first day and
know where to hang their coat, or go for lunch.
• When you make the effort to have things ready for
that important first day (such as a ready workstation
or access to tools), the employee feels welcome, and
you are much more likely to have an engaged member
of your workforce.
