God’s gospel plants all his GOOD stuff inside of us, even if we
are unworthy, and don’t deserve it. Mercy is not getting what you
do deserve; grace is getting what you don’t deserve. We even
have the Holy Spirit inside to show us all the good things of God
that he gives to us.
Jesus says that God gives us his entire Kingdom!
With all good things planted in us, good things come out of us.
If we let bad things be planted inside of us, then bad things come
out of us. It’s very simple. Most counselors tend to look at the bad
fruit in a person’s life and try to correct it by behavior modifica-
tion. But I look at the seed — what is planted into people— more
than I look at the fruit.
Why? It is because the seed forms roots that produces
fruit, which can be either good or bad!
A lot of bad fruit can be weeded if you just stop planting the
depressing late night news into you before going to bed. Don’t
forget your subconscious never sleeps. It mulls over what you’ve
fed into it all night long. Bad NEWS is bad SEED that produces
bad FRUIT.
Everything dictates the roots that form in us —even the music we
listen to. In earlier editions of this I spoke of John Denver’s
positive music (and that of others), and how it effects us in good,
positive ways. So it is with worship music.
But we also contend with bad music that can hurt us.
