love. In love we connect, communicate, understand each other,
accepting and forgiving them. When this need is highly met, the
first three fall into place better.
GOD gives us his unconditional love but we can only truly know
and receive his love if we are SECURE in him (#1), and have
absolute, total confidence of our salvation — not doubting it!
God wants us living in his divine, agape love, not just in our
human eros or phileo love. Jesus says, “Love others AS I have
loved you.” It’s like we live in what I call ‘used love.’ First, we
receive and live in God’s love, and then give it away. “You have
freely received, so freely give.”
(5) INCREASE. If we are not growing and maturing, we are
dying. All life must have positive movement: betterment. If we
are not increasing we are decreasing. This is why we must have
goals and priorities and purposes. This is true individually, but
it’s also true for couples if we are married.
GOD’s gospel is what I call ‘the great equalizer.’ It is what
empowers us to love others (#4). It’s impossible to truly love
others if you see them as being BENEITH you, or ABOVE you.
(6) OVERFLOW. We must see ourselves as being here to make
a contribution to the lives of others, and to help them live ‘on
higher ground,’ as John Denver called it. Our job is to help
others, edify and encourage, listen and overflow to them.
GOD fills us with his Holy Spirit, and Jesus says “make
disciples, and to preach GOSPEL truth and reality to everyone.”
