day rain on you. You were not going to let your wood get all wet.

Now, if you prayed for this irritable person, or unwanted

problem or situation, how can you now get angry when it comes

your way? You really can’t if you trust God. And Jesus promised

us we would have both (1) problems and (2) problem people in

our lives, now didn’t he? Now you just ‘turn it loose,’ and don’t let

it get your goat. Don’t let it own you.

Having Our Human Needs Met

We all have the same basic needs in our lives, and if we

don’t get these needs met, at least to a very substantial degree
(say at least 6 on a scale of 1-10), the we react inappropriately

toward others and this causes problems.

As a divorce lawyer I know it causes separation and also
divorce, if not both emotional and physical abuse.

Here are the 7 basic needs that we have, but the SEVENTH is

only a need of mature Christians who want to live a truly abun-
dant life in Christ, and in the power of his gospel:

(1) Security,

(2) Spontaneity

(3) Significance

(4) Love

(5) Increase
