We all heard of Micky D's right? They have one of the most
recognizable brands in the world. But aside from that, have you
noticed that there's one thing that they never fail to do, even to this
day? Yep, you guessed it, that's marketing. Have you ever asked
yourself why they still do it? I mean, we all know that they're in
business and what they sell don't we? What's the use right?
You may be thinking, "Isn't the idea of marketing just to show people
who you are, what you do and how you do it?" Well, sort of, but if
that's all it took to be successful, then McDonald's of all people
should have that part licked by now, don't you think? They wouldn't
need to make one single commercial anymore because who doesn't
know about McDonald's, right? But yet, they're still at it!
Why? Because people are ckle creatures and they tend to forget
about you pretty quick, that's why. I liken it to herding cats. That's
exactly why you have to be the last picture that they see in their
mind every day, or they will choose your competitor.
Does every campaign that they employ work? Some work, some
bomb. But the thing is, they've been at this for so long, and have
tried so many di erent approaches over the years that they have a
pretty good idea of what works, and what doesn't at this point.
Just take a look at any corporate 'giant', of any industry to reinforce
my point. They all invest billions of dollars into marketing every year.
Why? Well just look at the example that they have set. They do it,
because it has to be done in order to remain competitive. It's just
that simple. Remember, success leaves clues!
