LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
MOCK DRILL ALERT!
Keeping the safety and security of students in mind, a mock fire and evacuation drill was conducted by the Student Leadership Team on 8th January
2020, to highlight the importance of being vigilant in times of emergencies.
The drill was monitored by the staff and student body to ensure that all students evacuated the school in record time. The objectives were met, with
students understanding the precautions and procedures of a fire drill.
COMBATTING BULLYING
Recognising the role of schools in identifying and actively combatting bullying, DGPS has hosted interactive workshops for students and parents.
The sessions were conducted on October 10 and 13, 2019, by Dr Rachael Phillips and Ms Reema Baniabbasi of The Psychiatry and Therapy
Center, Dubai. The workshops left the school community with a better understanding of what bullying is and how it affects those involved. The
school is grateful to Dr Phillips and Ms Baniabbasi for enlightining the school community and helping Dubai Gem to be a safer, happier, and more
nurturing school.
