27. Estimation of Specific Gravity
FAfter completion of A & B steps pour the water and

dry the Bottle in Hot Air Oven (30min). (Picture - 5)
To estimate the Specific gravity in oil.
FAfter cooling, fill the Specific gravity bottle with Oil,
then insert the lid slowly. Wipe the Oil with cotton

FAnalytical Balance, 1 mg / 0.1 mg accuracy (picture cloth & note the weight (C). ( Picture - 6)

FHot air oven (picture -3)
PROCEDURE
FTake 50ml Specific Gravity Bottle & Note the empty
weight with lid (A). Fill Specific gravity bottle with
distilled water then insert the lid slowly. Wipe the
water with cotton cloth & note the weight (B).

Where, A = weight in gm of empty specific gravity bottle.
CALCULATION
C- A B = weight in gm of specific gravity bottle with water.
Specific Gravity = ----------------------- C = weight in gm of specific gravity bottle with Oil.
B- A at room temperature.
