The Polypropylene Plant (PP)
Designed Capacity: 120 KTA
Technology: Lyondell Bassell, Italy
Poly Propylene Plant is based on the Bassell (Montell) Spheripol Technology, which is the
leading PP technology in the world. The plant was constructed by Technimont, an Italian
company that has built a number of Bassell plants worldwide. Propylene and PRF are the
raw materials for PP and these comes from Olefin plant. Polypropylene particles are
grown in reactor at polymerization step, where monomer, propylene, and other raw
materials like hydrogen, ethylene and catalyst are fed. Then polymer powder is
transferred to extruder to get the PP pellets. Then these polymer pellets are transferred to
warehouse for bagging.
The plant can produce homo-polymers, random-polymers as well as co-polymers that are
used in wide range of applications, from woven sacks to household goods.
