Bhramari Pranayama
Bhramari’ is a Sanskrit word which is derived from ‘Bhramar’ the black
Indian bumble bee. It describes the characteristic humming sound which
is produced while exhaling in this breathing exercise. This practice
involves breathing in slowly through both nostrils. While exhaling you
need to use the throat to make a soft sound - like the buzzing of a bee.
This form of pranayama has another variation where you use alternate
nostrils for inhaling and exhaling.
Bhramari Pranayama is the best breathing exercise for meditative focus. It
has immediate relaxing effect on the brain. The regular practice is known
to reduce mental stress, fatigue and high blood pressure.
Note: This technique should be practiced only under the guidance of a
trained instructor. (We’ll do that for you. Just ping us!)
