The Revolution of Imam Hussein

Introduction

This study attempts to discuss the basic political and
religious ideas of Imam Hussein’s revolution associated
with the concept of obedience and revolution. In addition
it attempts to explore, discover, and reveal the origins, the

meaning and the significances of the revolution.
The study is based on two kinds of resources. First: The
works of the historians which provide valuable information
on the revolution; and second, the works of the modern
scholars.
The writer should study the history with a sense of
engagement, as if he was living in the middle of the

historical time to see the real images, and to make the topic
which he writes about a part of his life.
Writing about the revolution of Imam Hussein (as) will
enlighten us to know more about him and to produce
a greater understanding of the history of that era. It will
allow us to demonstrate the general understanding of the
rulers of the Muslim community and to reflect upon certain
questions.
