The other two strand pairs are laced in the opposite way: the painted pair on
the left-hand rope is laced through the corresponding painted pair on the right-
hand rope and, finally, the left-hand unpainted pair is laced through the last,
opposite strand pair.
Draw the two rope ends together and seize with twine at the center to hold the
developing splice in place. Remove the original seizings.
