The total mesh element count (part + runner) should stay below 2 million elements to minimize
computation time. Mesh volume for part and runner can also be seen in this window.
2.2.1.3.6 Sensor Nodes
Sensor Nodes in simulation allow the user to extract transient data (such as Temperature history, Fiber
Orientation, Pressure data, etc.) from the simulation at a certain location. These nodes can be used to
mimic measurement tools, such as thermocouples and pressure transducers. However, these nodes may
be placed inside the thickness of the model, not just at the surface.
Sensor nodes must be placed before the simulation for the data to be extracted. To create Sensor Nodes,
place a point on your Part surface. Go to Tool > Point to create a point.
Then, right-click on the point and Edit Injection Molding Attribute:
The Sensor Node data extraction can be done after the simulation is ran.
2.2.1.3.7 Final Mesh Check
Once the mesh is generated, a Final Check can be run to export the mesh and move into simulation setup.
