the world to come eternal life.”
A living sacrifice
Jesus also teaches in Luke 14:26 that we
must hate our own life in order to be one of
His disciples. We hate our own life by
denying our worldly and self-interests and
presenting our body as a “living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable unto God” (Rom. 12:1) for
God’s use and for His eternal purposes. We
