But Jesus rebuked that kind of Christianity
when He referred to the Laodicean church
as “lukewarm.” Jesus said in Revelation 3:16,
“So then because thou art lukewarm, and
neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my
mouth,” which would suggest that lukewarm
Christians are very “distasteful” to the Lord,
and yet churches are full of professing
Christians who are “neither cold nor hot.”

Also, Matthew 10:37 says, He that loveth
father or mother more than me is not worthy
of me: and he that loveth son or daughter
more than me is not worthy of me,” and Luke
14:26 says, “If any man come to me, and hate
not his father, and mother, and wife, and
children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and
his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.”
