cost,” God’s Word teaches just the opposite.
Matthew 10:34 through 36 says, “Think not
that I am come to send peace on earth: I came

not to send peace, but a sword. For I am
come to set a man at variance against his
father, and the daughter against her mother,
and the daughter in law against her mother in

law. And a man's foes shall be they of his
own household.”
This kind of teaching, however, is not
heard from most pulpits today because most
people will not accept the hard call of
becoming a biblical disciple of Christ;
rather, an “easy-believism” way of salvation
is being preached and promoted that demands
no repentance of sin and no personal
sacrifices or suffering for the cause of Christ.
