time in his or her life prayed a “sinner’s

prayer” or made some other kind of profession

of faith in Christ as Savior.

But Jesus said in Matthew 7 that we’ll

know false prophets by their fruits, which I

believe would also include false professing

Christians, and Matthew 7:18 says, “A good

tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a

corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.” Also,

James 4:4 says that the friendship of the world

is enmity with God and that whosoever will

be a friend of the world is the enemy of

God.

God’s ideal

Ideally, God’s plan for family (and for all

Christians) is that there would be unity and
