Before the wedding assembly is made, it is carried out first for the hanging work. This
hanging job is usually done 4 or 5 days before the wedding day. The work carried out at the bride's
house is in the form of preparations. Namely cleaning and decorating the house by using various
curtains that are hung and make the ceiling of cloth. Replacing and installing “window shutters”,
installing and decorating a complete new bed for the newlyweds, and other things needed to face
               the wedding assembly.

This includes making kitchens and wards, making “peterakne” or “ratna chests/caskets of
rakna”. That is where the bride and groom sit side by side, and make the aisle for the bride's bed.
The hanging event is usually preceded by plain flour and a small kenduri or congratulation prayer.
So that all the work done will be blessed by Allah SWT. What is surrounded by bids is the place
               around the aisle.

               8. Porch

This ceremony is usually carried out after the night of Bernai, namely the next day. The
goal is to remove / clean the bride and groom from the 'dirt' of the world so that his heart becomes
white and pure. Berandam is essentially doing roma hair removal on the face and neck of the bride-
to-be while also cleaning her face. Berandam is cutting or shaving hair, both for the groom and for
the bride. For the groom, it is usually the hair that grows on his head that is shaved.

Meanwhile, the bride-to-be includes hair that grows thin on the nape of the neck, temples
and forehead. This shaving, especially for the bride-to-be, is usually done the day before the
               marriage ceremony.

After shaving, Mak Andam (a mother) surrounds the bride-to-be 3 times with a coconut
shaped like a mountain peak and wrapped with five colored threads. It means that the bride and
groom have strong or beautiful offspring (like a mountain when viewed from afar). Meanwhile,
the five-colored thread that is wrapped around is likened to a river whose water always flows. That
is, the sustenance of the bride and groom is expected to continue to flow like river water. Next,
with two lit candles, Mak Andam surrounds the bride-to-be, also 3 times. The symbolic meaning
behind the burning candle is the illumination of life. This means, so that the future bride and groom
will always be on a bright path (always do good),

               10. Bernai
The purpose of this ceremony is to ward off evil and protect the bride and groom from
harm, including visible harm, increase the aura and radiance of the bride and bring out the prestige
of the groom. Bernai means smearing fingernails and toenails with henna. This event was carried
out on the next day (after the clapping event). In this case, the fingernails and toenails of the bride
and groom are assessed. The symbolic meaning contained in this appraisal is new life. That is, by
playing, a young couple has stepped foot (entered) married life. The implementation of henna for
